This map accompanies the AAPI Media Directory of news media outlets serving Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities across the U.S. and the Pacific islands of American Samoa, Guam, Palau and Samoa.
To find and view outlets based in the islands, Hawaii, or Alaska, select their respective icon on the right side of the map. The map can then be reset to its original view, centered on the U.S. mainland, using the reset map button that will appear.
The map shows the wider metropolitan areas that the outlets serve. These areas can be hidden from view using the button at the top right of the map. U.S. metropolitan areas are only visible on the map where one or more outlets from the directory are located.
You can find an individual outlet by typing its name into the search bar, or by selecting from the dropdown menu, and you will be taken to its location. An outlet with an asterisk (*) either does not have a location available, or is based in another country and not shown on the map.
When the outlet is selected, its marker will be highlighted on the map. To turn off the pulsing effect, click on the marker.
